International plastic pallet sizes
There are three main international pallet sizes: 1200mm x 1000mm (European standard), 1200mm x 800mm (used in some European countries) and 1100mm x 1100mm (Japanese standard). These sizes are based on the logistics systems and warehousing facilities in different regions, and are designed to realise the interchangeability and universality of pallets between different countries and regions.
As an indispensable part of the modern logistics system, the standardisation of pallet dimensions is of great significance to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs. The international common pallet size mainly has the following specifications:
First, 1200mm × 1000mm plastic pallet
This is the pallet size under the European standard, and is one of the most widely used specifications internationally. It is applicable to the logistics system and storage facilities in most European countries, and can realise the smooth circulation of pallets between different countries and regions. In addition, because of its moderate size, not only to meet the needs of most of the goods bearing, but also can reasonably use the storage space, so it has been widely used in the world.
Second, 1200mm × 800mm plastic pallet
This size is mainly used in some European countries, especially those areas where storage space is relatively tight. Compared with the 1200mm × 1000mm pallet, it is reduced in width, but the length remains the same. This size is more suitable for storing goods that are long or narrow in width, and can also save some storage space. However, because it is not a global size, so in cross-border logistics may be subject to certain restrictions.
Third, 1100mm x 1100mm plastic pallet
This is the pallet size under the Japanese standard and is mainly used within Japan. Compared with the European standard, its length and width have been reduced, but the overall area is still able to meet most of the cargo carrying needs. This size specification was developed mainly based on the characteristics of Japan's domestic logistics system and warehousing facilities in order to achieve interchangeability and universality of pallets on a domestic scale. However, in international trade, the use of pallets of this size may require additional conversion or adaptation measures.
Overall, it is important for enterprises to understand and follow internationally accepted pallet size standards to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs. When selecting pallets, enterprises should make comprehensive considerations based on their own business needs, cargo characteristics, and the logistics environment of the target market to ensure that the selected pallets can meet the actual needs and also achieve seamless integration with the global logistics system.
